Wildnet joins the eCommerce revolution

12.06.00 - Wildnet New Media Group (Wildnet), a new media company that specialises in the construction, management and marketing of Web based interactive trading sites, has launched itself into the world of e-commerce, bringing with it a wealth of
online b2b insurance experience into the wider online world.

Formed in September 1998 as a joint venture with Benfield Greig*, the company was originally known as Benfield Greig Interactive Limited (BGIL). Now branded as Wildnet, the company has established itself as the market leader in the design and management of trading sites for the insurance industry. Currently, employing over 45 employees both in the UK & US, Wildnet has rapidly expanded from its initial three person start up.

Through the use of innovative technology coupled with sound marketing skills and a clear understanding of e-business, Wildnet enables its clients’ Web sites to continually attract an ever increasing flow of traffic/hits. The new media company already has eight sites operational and this number will rise to 20 by the end of the year.

Mark Birrell, Wildnet’s CEO comments, “The Internet and its associated ecommerce applications provide a boundless world of untapped opportunities and it’s through our innovative approach that we find ourselves in a perfect position to
explore such a market.

Our business model enables our clients to enjoy the benefits of a fully integrated approach, from the initial concept though to the marketing of the site - our inhouse team is able to deliver the complete e-commerce package.

The interactive technology which we have developed for our current insurance clients is equally applicable to non-insurance entities and as such, we have now begun to aggressively target a customer base beyond our traditional core market.”

Benfield Greig is one of the largest independent and privately owned risk advisory & reinsurance distribution Groups in the world.
